A legend recounts the story of Lord Krishna asking a Bamboo tree for its life. The Bamboo tree loved him and it happily complied to die for his love. So when Lord Krishna Hollowed and cut the tree, It cried in pain.  Seeing it in agony Lord Krishna created a Flute out of the Bamboo Tree which he carried with him at all times.  The Flute was so dear to him that even his Gopis were jealous of it. It was also symbolic of his eternal love for Radha. Seeing his intense love for the flute the Gopis asked the bamboo as to why Lord Krishna treasured it so much,  The bamboo said  “The secret is that I´m empty inside. And the Lord does whatever he wants with me, whenever he wants with me and however he wants with me”.  So this is complete surrender: where God can do whatever He wants with you, whenever He wants, as He wants.  Here, a beautiful Madhubani Painting depicts a forest scene where Lord Krishna seems to be lost in the trance whilst playing his flute. Tortoise is a symbol of longevity, endurance, persistence, and the continuation of life (sometimes against incredible odds). Slow moving on earth, yet also incredibly fast and agile in water. The dual core of this species is carved into stone creating a timeless look. Tortoise is praised for uniqueness, mental faculties and long life. The Tortoise here will is perfect for any set up due to the intricately carved stone in a shell like hollow structure through which we can see another Tortoise placed right inside the original/ outer figurine. #turtle #doublecarved #stone
